Improve Mobility - Stretching and sthrengthing exercise helps restore your your ability to move. Our physical therapist properly fits patients a with cane, crutches or other assistive devices. By customizing an individual care plan, whatever activity that is important to our patient's life can be practiced and adapted to ensure maximal performance and safety.
Improve Balance / Prevent Falls - At the Cardiac Connection our initial physical therapy evaluation includes a screen for fall risk. If our patient is considered a high risk for falls, our therapist will provide exercises that safely and carefully change their balance as a way to mimic real-life situation. Our physical therapist also helps with exercise to improve coordination and uses assistive devices to help with safer walking, reduce and eliminate symptoms of dizziness or vertigo.
Manage Diabetes / Vascular Conditions - At The Cardiac Connection as part of our overall diabetes management plan, exercise can help control blood sugar. Additionally patients with diabetes may have problems with sensation in their feet. Our physical therapist helps provide and educate our patients on proper foot care to prevent further problems.
Manage Heart / Lung Disease - At The Cardiac Connection we provide cardiac rehabilitation at home after a heart attack or Cardiothoracic surgery. Our physical therapist helps improve quality of life through strengthening, conditioning and breathing exercises to help conserve energy.
